What is an Evite

An Evite is an invitation that you send or post electronically.

Cardmint customers can send their evites by text, e-mail, WhatsApp, and social media. And they can use the same file for printing! (Unlike some evite companies, Cardmint gives you complete control of your file.)

Evites often include RSVP tracking features, where you use a service to e-mail your invitations and track the responses for you. We recommend using RSVPify.com for RSVP tracking. There is a free version for simple events.

Evites also sometimes contain animation during envelope opening or on youth invitations. We love the look of animated invitations, but we have found that Cardmint customers aren't very interested.

How Ordering Works

Cardmint sells invitations as digital files. You can personalize your invitations before you order, after you order, or a little of each.

If you personalize before you order, you can add your personalized invitation directly to your shopping cart. If you want to personalize later, just add the invitation to your cart from the product page.

After you check out and pay for your invitation, you will be directed to an order confirmation page which contains a link to our Digital Center, where you can further personalize your invitation and download your personalized file. You will also receive an order confirmation e-mail containing the same link.

You can download two types of personalized invitation files. Use the .jpg file to send and post evites, and provide it to retail/online printers or use it for photo printers. The .pdf file is a 2/page with cut lines for home printing on letter size paper.

Our business started offering invitations as prints in 2013. In 2014 we led the way by offering digital-only invitations, where customers took responsibility for printing. In 2023 we introduced a powerful self-personalization feature.

While our product is pretty much a self-service offering, we provide excellent customer service if the need arises.

What is RSVP Tracking

RSVP tracking is a service where you submit the e-mail addresses for your invitees, who will then e-mail your invitations for you from a service e-mail address. (Occasionally this can result in e-mails going to invitee junk folders.)

When your invitees respond, you are notified and the status of your invitations are updated in the reports.

We recommend using RSVPify.com for RSVP tracking. The website has a free version for simple events, and amazing features for complicated events. You can easily upload your personalized Cardmint invitation file to the RSVPify.com website.

Normally you would consider using RSVP tracking worth the effort if you have over 10 invitees.

Can I Get Prints

Cardmint offered prints until 2022, but the demand for invitation printing has since dropped significantly due to the upward trend in evites and USPS price increases. So we let the specialists who still have meaningful volume do it.

You have some great options for getting prints:

• Online printers such as Shutterfly or Prints of Love
• Retail printers such as Staples or The UPS Store
• Photo printers such as CVS or Walmart
• Home printing and cutting out can be fun for family or friends

We recommend staying away from commercial printers. They usually require a bleed (blank space inside the invitation edges). Cardmint does not include a bleed, so they will stretch the invitation to create one, making the invitation elements significantly larger than what you see online.
